What are the check-in and check-out times ?
Check-in time is guaranteed for 4PM while check-out time is 10AM.
Do the cottages have BBQs?
From mid-April to mid-October you can rent a BBQ with propane tank, for 10$.
What do you find in the kitchen?
Our kitchens are equipped to prepare full meals. You will find: fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, pots and pans, plates, utensils, dish soap and dish cloths and more.
Are linens included?
Yes, all linens are included (sheets, blankets, pillows and towels)
Is there a spot to make fires outside?
Yes, we have one spot on site to make fires and the wood is there for your use, free of charge. You can also make a fire on the beach directly across the road from the cottages.
Can we swim in the Bay of Chaleur?
Yes, absolutely. We are directly in front of the beach which is cleaned every morning to pick up the debris left by the tides. There are some rocks in the sand and the beach is unsupervised. The views are incredible and it is a great place to spend the day in the sun. There are washrooms and a canteen on the beach.
Is there a playground for children?
Yes, we have a playground on our site and there is also a larger one at the beach, directly in front of the cottages.
Do you have any hiking or cycling trails?
New Brunswick trails cross on our site so you have access to over 20 kilometers of trails for cycling or walking. If you would like to do some mountain biking, Mont Sugarloaf is 20 km away and they have wonderful downhill trails and a chairlift.
Are there herons on your site?
Unfortunately none of them have decided on making our site their home, but within a 5 minute walk you can see many of them in their natural environment (Eel River marshes). We also have over 100 species of birds living in and around Charlo.
What is the temperature of the water in the Bay of Chaleur?
During the summer months, July and August, the temperature varies between 16 and 22 degrees celcius. The amount of snow, it’s melting date and the amount of sun during the spring have a big effect on the water temperatures.
On a rainy day, are there any activities to do with our children?
In every cottage, you will find a list of activities with phone numbers and costs. On site we have a selection of DVD’s, board games and books that can be used free of charge. Within a few kilometers of our cottages, there are indoor pools, a movie theatre, libraries, shopping malls, museums and bowling alleys.
Do you accept animals?
We accept animals in specific cottages. It is important that you mention that you will be traveling with an animal when you make your reservation. There is a 25$ charge for the stay of your pet to cover additional cleaning costs.
Where exactly are your cottages located?
Our cottages are in the North-East New Brunswick between Campbellton and Bathurst. We are 6 hours from Quebec City, 2.5 hours from Rimouski and 3 hours from Moncton.
Are all your cottages identical?
No. We have 4 categories of cottages and variations within each category. We have 2 or 3 bedroom cottages that have 2, 3 or 4 beds and some have sofa beds. When you call to make your reservation it is important to mention your needs and the amount of persons that will be staying with you. We will be better able to identify the perfect cottage to meet your needs.
